Sawai Madhopur, April 28 -- A young male tiger succumbed to fatal injuries that it sustained in a territorial fight with another male in the famed Ranthambore National Park here.
The body of the big cat T-2402, aged four and a half years, was recovered by the sanctuary's authorities early Tuesday and kept for autopsy, a Ranthambore field official said.
The body of Tiger 2402 - the offspring of tigress Aishwarya (T-99), was found lying in the Hindwad block of the Phalodi Forest Range of the national park here, the official said.
Seeing the injury marks and after generalised initial observations, it appeared to be a fight for dominance for establishing own territory, he added.
