Chandigarh, Aug. 13 -- A 23-year-old devotional singer from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, identified as Simran Pandey, was found dead in her home in Ludhiana's New Star Colony, under the Tibba police station area today. Police suspect she died by suicide after hanging herself with a dupatta. The incident occurred when Simran was alone at home.
According to police, Simran's family returned around 11 p.m. and discovered her body. They immediately informed the authorities, and her body was sent to the Civil Hospital's mortuary for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
