Young male lion which went missing at Lion Safari in Vandalur Zoo, returns safely

Chennai, Oct. 6 -- A male lion which went missing from the Lion Safari at theArignar Anna Zoological Park (AAZP) at suburban Vandalur, popularly called asVandalur Zoo, returned to its shelter this evening after three days.

A release from the office of the AAZP Director said a young male lion, Sheryaar(5 years old), was released into the Lion Safar, spread over a sprawaling 50 acrearea within the Zoo premises, on October three.

But it did not return to the night shelter in the evening as expected.

The zoo management immediately initiated precautionary measuresto ensure the animal's safety. Five dedicated search teams, supportedby a technical team comprising veterinarians, biologists, and animalcaretakers, were deployed to monitor the safa...
