Bhubaneswar, Dec. 27 -- The Odisha forest department has inducted all-woman patrol squads to guard wildlife and woodland along the Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary under Hirakud Wildlife Division, said an official on Saturday.

"Five women units have been inducted for the first time in the Enforcement Squad. The members of the team are mostly from the tribal families. They were roped in the enforcement unit because of their commitment towards wildlife & forest protection, fearless attitude, dream to have a meaningful life by serving Nature," said Anshu Pragyan Das, Divisional Forest Officer, Hirakud Wildlife Division (Debrigarh Sanctuary).
