Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 30 -- The younger generation must be taught to face failures in life, as the inability to handle setbacks is pushing many towards addiction and violence, said former DGP Jacob Thomas.

Delivering the Dr B.S. Harishankar Memorial Lecture on the theme 'Contemporary Kerala - Some Reflections' organised by the Bharatiya Vichara Kendra (BVK) local committee here, Thomas criticised Kerala's education system, stating that it has "collapsed" as schools now prioritise achieving high pass percentages over ensuring quality learning.
