Gorakhpur, March 4 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said Holi symbolises social harmony, enthusiasm and collective joy, adding that festivals can be celebrated with full fervour only in an atmosphere of peace.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the traditional Holi celebrations at the Gorakhnath Temple, Adityanath said the younger generation is carrying forward India's centuries-old Holi traditions preserved by sages and ancestors with the same spirit and devotion.
He said people from all sections of society across the state were participating in the festival, helping to strengthen social bonds. Any discord or animosity, he added, should give way to harmony and mutual respect.
