Lucknow, Feb. 12 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has set up the Kinnar Welfare Board and is continuously working for the welfare of the transgender community, Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun said in the state Assembly today.
Responding to a question raised by Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Sachin Yadav in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Thursday, Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun said that this is an important and historic moment in the House, when the problems of the most backward and marginalized community are being seriously discussed.
The Minister said that this is a good and meaningful question.
