Lucknow, May 6 -- A major step towards giving a new identity to the diverse tastes and rich culinary tradition of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has undertaken a significant initiative. On the lines of one district one product (ODOP), under 'One District One Cuisine (ODOC)', comprehensive mapping of major traditional dishes of all 75 districts of the state has been completed, thereby establishing a distinct food identity for each district.
Under this initiative, famous dish such as Agra's Petha, Mathura's Peda, Varanasi's Lassi, Jaunpur's Imarti, Gorakhpur's Samosa, Meerut's Revdi-Gajak, Lucknow's Malai Makhan, Saharanpur's Honey, and Muzaffarnagar's Jaggery have been given prominence.
