Bengaluru, Oct. 22 -- After sparking a buzz about impending leadership change with his remarks, Karnataka Congress leader Yathindra Siddaramaiah has clarified that his statement was not about changing the chief minister and that Siddaramaiah will complete his full five-year term.

Speaking at a public event in Raybag, Belagavi district yesterday, Yathindra referred to his father, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, as being in the "final phase" of his political career and indicated that Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi could be a suitable successor.

His comments immediately sparked speculation about a possible leadership transition.
