Amravati, Nov. 21 -- Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra minister Yashomati Thakur is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in next six months, claimed Independent MLA Ravi Rana here today.

Rana stated that Ms Thakur had earlier shown willingness to join BJP and had also held discussions with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

According to him, Ms Thakur had expressed readiness to switch sides if she was assured a BJP ticket from the Tivsa Assembly constituency.

However, in a recent development, Ms Thakur launched a stinging attack on Chief Minister Fadnavis, alleging that his cousin was elected unopposed in the Chikhaldara Municipal Council due to pressure tactics and misuse of power.
