Chandigarh, March 7 -- Social media platform X has suspended an account impersonating the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee following legal proceedings initiated before the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The handle @SGPCAmritsar_ has been placed under account suspended status since January 31, 2026, marking a step in the SGPC's efforts to address online impersonation of the religious body.
The suspension followed legal action initiated by the SGPC President through a formal notice issued under the guidance of S A S Syali on January 11, 2024.
The matter was later taken before the Grievance Appellate Committee.
