Chennai, Oct. 26 -- India's campaign in the singles qualifying rounds of the WTAChennai Open 2025 ended this evening with 20-year-old Vaishnavi Adkar bowing outin the final round, but secured a berth in the main draw as a Lucky Loser after a Kiwiplayers pulled out due to scheduling problem.
Adkar, ranked No. 661 in the world, put up a spirited fight, but lost 2-6, 3-6 to France'sAstrid Lew Yan Foon, ranked No. 373.
The victory sealed a place in the main draw of a WTA 250 event for the first time in theFrench player's career as a Lucky Loser, thanks to New Zealand's Lulu Sun who pulledout of the tournament due to a scheduling problem.
