Wreath laying ceremony held to commemorate Vijay Diwas

Chennai, Dec. 16 -- A wreath laying ceremony was held to pay hoamge to the bravehearts here on the occasion Vijay Diwas,marking India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.

A defence release here said, Maj Gen RM Srinivas, the Officiating GOC DakshinBharatArea, laid a wreath along with FOTNA, AOCTambaram and DIG ICG Chennai and paid homage to the bravehearts of the 1971 War to honour their supreme sacrifice.

In his message, Maj Gen Srinivas recalled the historic victory of 1971, lauded the valour and professionalism of the Indian ArmedForces, and exhorted the youth to uphold the ideals of duty, honour and nation.
