Chennai, March 14 -- In a bid to disseminate the glory of
classical Tamil and the excellence of Tamil culture among
Tamil youths across the globe, the 'World Tamil Olympiad'
competition will be held every year, Tamil Nadu Finance
Minister Thangam Thennarasu said on Friday.
Presenting the Budget for the year 2025-26 in the State
Assembly, he said the Olympiad contest will be held with
a computer-based examination format enabling participation
of school students not only from Tamil Nadu but also from
other Indian cities and Tamil centres around the world.
To honour students with awards who excel at the global level,
and those who secure top positions at the national and state
levels, an amount of Rs.one crore has been allotted.
