New Delhi, July 23 -- The latest data of the World Trade Organization (WTO) revealed that merchandise trade grew by 5.3 per cent year-on-year and 3.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter in 2025.
This optimistic figure is mainly due to the sharp increase in imports in the North American region.
In the Asian subcontinent India improved noticeably and witnessed a positive recovery after a 4 per cent drop in exports in the first quarter. The recent data of May shows an improvement of 5 per cent, and now Indian exports are at the mark of 9 per cent. While other Asian countries, including China, have a stable trade scenario as per the WTO report.
