New Delhi, July 23 -- The latest World Trade Organisation (WTO) data revealed that the volume of world merchandise trade grew by 5.3 per cent year-on-year and 3.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter of 2025.
This optimistic figure is mainly due to the sharp increase in imports in the North American region.
In the Asian subcontinent, India considerably improved as the country's exports grew by 9% in April, after suffering a drop of 4% in the first quarter. China's trade health is also stable as the exports remained at the year-on-year growth of 6% simultaneously in both quarters (both 1st and 2nd).
