Mumbai, March 7 -- The World Audio-Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) will be organised in Maharashtra in association with the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the state Government from May 1-4, an official announced on Friday.

The summit at the JIO World Convention Centre, Mumbai, will bring together global media and entertainment entrepreneurs, policymakers and innovators from India and discuss 'Opportunities and Challenges for the Media and Entertainment Industry', Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik said in a press release.

Saunik directed that all the departments should coordinate the planned preparations for the conference.
