Patna, Jan. 12 -- The Bihar unit of the Working Journalists of India (WJI) on Monday submitted a seven-point charter of demands to the state government and sought concrete steps for the welfare and security of journalists.

A delegation of the WJI led by WJI Bihar president Bholanath called on the Director of Information and Public Relations Anil Kumar and handed over a memorandum, urging the government to consider the demands seriously and take early action in the interest of journalists.

The memorandum called for simplification and regularisation of the Journalist Honour Scheme, provision of free health insurance, and lifetime free medical facilities for retired journalists. Other key demands included allotment of houses or residential p...
