Mumbai, April 21 -- Calling workers the true architects of the nation's destiny, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray alleged that in the current climate, organizations formed in the name of workers are being controlled by industrial owners. He claimed that some trade union leaders are more interested in benefiting from owners' pockets than safeguarding workers' rights.

Speaking at a special program held at Shivaji Mandir on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Kamgar Sena-the labour wing of Shiv Sena, Thackeray asserted that his party has worked in the labour sector for nearly six decades without ever betraying workers' trust. He emphasized his deep emotional connection with the saffron flag seen at the gates of industries.
