Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16 -- The Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), the women's wing of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state government following the Dhauli gang-rape incident, alleging that women's safety in Odisha has completely collapsed.
The party strongly condemned the remarks made by the State Women's Commission suggesting that mothers should not send their daughters to certain places and that girls should think about their own safety.
Terming the comments as unfortunate, BMJD said they reflect the government's failure to protect women.
