Hyderabad, March 8 -- The Women's Hockey World Cup Qualifiers-2026 began with much fanfare at the GMC Balayogi Hockey Stadium on Sunday, turning Hyderabad into a vibrant international sports venue.
The mega event, featuring teams from eight countries, is being jointly organised by the International Hockey Federation (IHF) and the Telangana government.
The arrangements for the tournament were made with adherence to international standards under the guidance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M Ramesh attended the opening day matches as the chief guest and said hosting international sporting events would inspire young athletes.
