Chennai, Jan. 25 -- In a significant ruling, the Madras High Court has said that women employees are entitledfor maternity leave with all benefits for third pregnancy also.
A Division Bench compirising Justice R Suresh Kumar and Shmamil Ahmed, while expressing displeasure over theauthorities continuing to deny maternity leave for third pregnancy despite the court passing several lrders, said womenemployees cannot be denied maternity leave even during third pregnancy.
The Bench also directed the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu to circulate its order among all Heads of Departments in theState government so that it was strictly adhered to scrupulously in future.
