Ghaziabad, Dec. 24 -- The image of the Uttar Pradesh Police has once again been tarnished after a woman sub-inspector and a constable were caught red-handed while taking a bribe in Ghaziabad, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The accused, woman sub-inspector Priya Singh and constable Shahid, were posted at Muradnagar police station. Their alleged plan to extort money failed due to the swift action of the Meerut Anti-Corruption Organisation team.

According to officials, Priya Singh, who was in charge of the Pink Booth at Muradnagar police station, along with constable Shahid, was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. The arrest took place inside the police station itself on Tuesday evening.
