Chennai, Aug. 13 -- A woman Ph.D scholar created a mild flutter today when she refused to receive her degree from the hands of Tamil Nadu Governor and state-owned Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Chanacellor R N Ravi alleging that he was act against the interests of Tamil Nadu.

In a strong rebuff to the Governor RN Ravi, the PhD scholar declined to receive her degree from him at the Convocation held in Tirunelveli.

The doctoral student, Jean Joseph, who refused to receive the Degree from the Governor, instead got it from Vice-Chancellor N Chandrasekar, at the 32nd convocation, held at the varsity campus at Abishekapatti near Tirunelveli.
