Itanagar, Feb. 27 -- A tragic fire accident claimed the life of a woman and left two minor girls injured at Itanagar's Lower E-Sector, opposite the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat, on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Tarh Yayum, wife of Tarh Tame. The two injured children, identified as Tarh Yalke and Tarh Roshni, sustained burn injuries in the incident.
According to Itanagar Fire Station Officer-in-Charge Koj T Gambo, the fire station received a call through the ERSS control room at around 12:33 am. Firefighting personnel from the Itanagar Fire Station immediately rushed to the spot with five fire tenders and launched an operation to control the blaze.
