Ghaziabad, Sept. 20 -- A 34-year-old woman head constable lost her life after being hit and crushed by a speeding truck on Saturday in Ghaziabad. The incident occurred near Lal Kuan on the National Highway in the Wave City area around 10 AM.
The victim, Anuradha, was on her way to duty in Noida riding her scooter when the horrific accident took place.
According to eyewitnesses, she tried to merge onto the Meerut Expressway from the service lane, which was flooded due to waterlogging. As she moved onto the main road, a truck reportedly traveling at 80-90 km/h rammed into her from behind and ran over her, killing her on the spot.
The truck driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
