Nagpur, Nov. 9 -- A newly married woman from Nagpur allegedly died by suicide following continuous harassment over dowry and domestic issues by her husband and in-laws.
Police have arrested two accused in connection with the case, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Farhanaz Numan Shaikh (23), a resident of Vrindavan Nagar, Nandanvan. She was married to Numaj Shaikh Aziz Shaikh (32) on June 20, 2025.
According to police, within a month of the marriage, Farhanaz was allegedly subjected to physical and mental harassment by her husband and his family members - mother Akila Shaikh (55), sister Sana Shaikh (30), brother-in-law Shaikh Moin Shaikh Shahabuddin (35), and sister-in-law's mother-in-law Shahjaan Shaikh (60).
