Chamba, Dec. 30 -- A woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild bear in Khaleli village of Khani panchayat in Bharmour subdivision in Chamba district on Monday, triggering renewed anger among residents over repeated wildlife attacks in the area.
Local residents rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the injured woman to the Medical College in Chamba for treatment. Considering her critical condition, doctors referred her to Medical College Tanda for advanced medical care.
The incident has intensified resentment among villagers against the Forest Department. Residents alleged that despite repeated incidents of wild bear attacks, no effective preventive measures have been taken to ensure public safety.
