Mau, Nov. 2 -- A woman and her grandson were fatally struck by a train while attempting to save a goat near the western railway gate of Muhammadabad Gohna today.
Another woman sustained injuries in the incident, causing grief and panic among the victims' family members.
The accident occurred this afternoon around 1:30pm.
According to reports, Meela Devi (55), a resident of Baramadpur locality, was grazing goats near the railway track along with her 5-year-old grandson Anuj Kumar and neighbour Subhawati Devi (60).
Suddenly, one of the goats wandered onto the track. Hearing the train's horn, Meela Devi rushed toward the tracks with her grandson in an attempt to rescue the animal.
