Berlin, Dec. 21 -- Wolfsburg on Saturday confirmed Daniel Bauer as its head coach on a long-term basis after opting for continuity following a turbulent spell at the Bundesliga club.

The decision was announced by the Wolves shortly before the kick-off of their final Bundesliga match of the year against Freiburg.

The 43-year-old, who stepped into the role on November 9 after the dismissal of Paul Simonis, has signed a contract running until June 30, 2027, the club said.

Wolfsburg has taken seven points from its past four league matches under Bauer, a stretch that helped stabilize both results and performances after a difficult start to the season.
