Dimapur, Aug. 20 -- In a first of its kind initiative to boost agri-entrepreneurship and scientific farming practices, the Wokha district administration, in collaboration with the horticulture department, Central Institute of Horticulture, agriculture department, Mission Shakti and Nagaland Rural Livelihoods Mission, facilitated a 10-day exposure-cum-training programme for 19 farmers of Wokha district, including 13 women, to leading national research institutes in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The farmers' team left on August 19 and will undergo specialised training at the ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB), Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu and the ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
