Kollam, March 8 -- CPI(M) Kerala State Party Conference has demanded the withdrawal of the UGC draft amendment that undermines the powers of state governments.

Politburo member and State Secretary, M.V. Govindan has said the Party Conference adopted a resolution on the issue.

On Saturday, the Conference began with discussions on Nava Kerala. It also adopted resolutions include - Protect Kerala's Cooperative Sector: Advocate for the Protection and Strengthening of the Cooperative Sector in Kerala, and Safeguard the Public Sector: Call for the Safeguarding of the Public Sector Across the Nation.
