Shimla, Dec. 24 -- A strong backlash has emerged against the ongoing Shimla Winter Carnival, with the Simla Collective accusing the city administration of vandalising the cultural, legal, and ecological fabric of the city by converting the Ridge and Mall Road into what it described as an "unregulated carnival zone".
Among the Shimla Collective or Environmentalists, including Uma Mahajan, wife of BJP Rajya Sabha Member Harsh Mahajan, former Shimla MC Council member Mala Singh, and Ashok Thakur slammed the organiser to covert heart of the town into a venue for unruly mobs and unregulated crowds during the peak tourist season.
