Srinagar, Nov. 10 -- The mercury in Srinagar dipped below the freezing point for the first time this season, marking the onset of winter chill in the Kashmir Valley.
According to the Meteorological Department, the summer capital recorded its first sub-zero night as temperatures dropped to -0.1 degress Celsius.
Most weather stations across the Valley also reported temperatures below freezing. The only exception was Kokernag in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, where the minimum temperature remained slightly higher at 1.4 degrees Celsius.
