New Delhi, Dec. 25 -- Air quality in the national Capital continued to improve for the second consecutive day, with strong winds offering temporary relief to Delhi residents.

At 4 pm, Delhi's 24-hour rolling average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 234, still in the 'poor' category, but an improvement from Wednesday's reading of 271, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The CPCB classifies air quality as 'moderate' when AQI ranges between 101 and 200, 'poor' between 201 and 300, and 'very poor' between 301 and 400. AQI levels above 400 fall in the 'severe' category.
