Lucknow, Sept. 11 -- Energy Minister of Uttar Pradesh Arvind Kumar Sharma today said that the government will take the state towards a green economy with green energy.
While addressing the 'Net Zero Summit' based on environmental sustainability, the Minister said, "UP is performing excellently in the field of solar energy. In July 2025, the state secured the first position in the country with 27,771 rooftop installations. By 2025, the state's solar power generation capacity has increased to 5,157 MW and is set to reach 10,000 MW soon. In comparison, the capacity in 2017 was just 389 MW."He said that this achievement has been made possible through the guidance of the Prime Minister and the Solar Energy Policy 2022 of the state government.
