Jaipur, Dec. 9 -- A leopard cub that had been roaming in the populated Bajaj Nagar-AG Colony area for the past few days was tranquilised and rescued from the Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) campus on Tuesday after a three-hour operation.
The 10-12-month-old cub, believed to have strayed from the Jhalana Reserve, had been captured on CCTV in Bajaj Nagar, AG Colony, Saraswati Colony, and Anita Colony over the last 2-3 days but had evaded tracing. Its sighting on the MNIT campus on Tuesday morning triggered brief panic among students.
After running around the campus, the animal hid in a corner room of the Vivekananda Lecture Theatre Complex (VLTC). Forest and Wildlife officials were alerted and rushed to the spot.
