Ramgarh (Jharkhand), Feb. 7 -- Wild elephants trampled a man and his grandson to death in Mahuatand Gangpur area of Ramgarh district, about 50km from Jharkhand capital Ranchi, on Friday, triggering panic and fear among villagers.

Official sources said 55-year-old Samar Sao and his three-year-old grandson Aman Kumar died in the attack by elephants. Chaos prevailed in the village as family members and residents cried for help, but none dared to deter the elephants.

On receiving information, teams from the district administration and forest department rushed to the spot.
