Chenna, Nov. 14 -- The Tamil Nadu Forests department has successfully andsafely relocated a wild elephant from a human-wildlife conflict zone in Coimbatoreto the secure and natural refuge of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR).

The move followed a meticulously planned, science-based operation carried outby the Coimbatore Forest Division.

At the Varakazhiyar Elephant Camp, the elephant was cared for with sensitivity,minimal disturbance, and constant supervision.

Throughout its controlled stay under the soft-release protocol right from daily observationand calm handling to radio-collaring and health assessments every stage was overseenwith great care by the local team led by the Field Director, supported by DFOs, Rangers,experienced Mahouts, ...
