Mumbai, Aug. 7 -- Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government and questioned the point of holding elections to local civic bodies in Maharashtra without the use of electronic voting machines which have voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) facility. The Sharad Pawar-led NCP has demanded that elections be held using traditional ballot papers if VVPAT machines are not available.
