Chennai, Sept. 28 -- TheWorld Human Rights Commission (WHRC) and Rescue Centre today petitionedthe Nationao Human Rights Commission (NHRC) seeking its intervention and a detailed independent probeinto the Karur stampede during the poltical rally of TVK Founder and actor Vijay, that has claimed 40 livesand left several injured.
In an urgent complaint filed by WHRC and Rescue Centre by its Chairman, Dr. S K Saamy, who is also anAdvocate of the Supreme Court soughtits immediate intervention into the tragic stampede at Karur.
The complaint, registered under Diary No. 23415/IN/2025, highlights the catastrophic failure of the TamilNadu Police in ensuring public safety, which led to multiple deaths and grievous injuries.
