Gaza City, Oct. 18 -- The West is reportedly propping Egypt to lead the international stabilisation force within Gaza, as per diplomats familiar with the matter who noted that European and US troops won't be part of the force.
This comes as a European and US-backed UN Security Council motion works to prep the international force to be robust enough to control Gaza's security.
The force is part of US President Donald Trump's 20-point plan, and is meant to secure the Strip during its transitional postwar period, where the Strip will be managed by a technocratic Palestinian government while Hamas terrorists fully disarm and the IDF forces initiate a phased withdrawal.
