Auckland, Nov. 5 -- West Indies held their nerve to secure a thrilling seven-run win over New Zealand in the first T20I of the ongoing tour at Eden Park here today.

Electing to bat first, the Windies posted a competitive 164 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Shai Hope led the innings with a measured 53 off 39 balls, supported by Rovman Powell's 33 off 23 deliveries and Roston Chase's 28 off 27. Extras contributed 15 runs, with nine wides proving costly for New Zealand. Jacob Duffy (2/19) and Zakary Foulkes (2/35) were the most successful bowlers for the hosts.
