Kolkata, Oct. 7 -- West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose issued a 24-hours ultimatum to the state police today, demanding swift action against those responsible for the recent attack on a BJP Member of Parliament and a party legislator - an incident allegedly involving Trinamool Congress (TMC) activists.
The governor warned that if the police failed to act within the given timeframe, he would intervene in accordance with constitutional provisions.
The attack occurred in Bamundanga, Jalpaiguri district, where the convoy of BJP MP Khagen Murmu and Shankar Ghosh, BJP's Chief Whip in the West Bengal Assembly, was allegedly targeted by TMC supporters.
