Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Bay to weaken, rains likely to decrease in TN

Chennai, Oct. 22 -- Having already announced that the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over theBay will not intensify into a Depression as predicted earlier, the Met office tonight said the systemwould weaken in the next 24 hrs while moving towards Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts,which would result in decrease in rainfall in some parts of the state.

In a latest update, Regional Meterological Department, Chennai Director Ms Amudha said theWell Marked Low Pressure over southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast moved nearlynorthwestwards across North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts.

It lay centred over the north coastal Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood at 1730 hrs of today.
