Kasaragod, Nov. 1 -- Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopalan has said the newly-announced welfare schemes will come into effect from November 1, with orders already issued.
He was speaking while inaugurating the Women Investors Meet and Export Workshop B@B Meet at Kanhangad, on Friday.
Minister Balagopalan said government assistance will reach 62 lakh people through welfare pension, 32 lakh women as security pension and 5 lakh youths as scholarship, with support reaching up to Rs 7,000 per household.
Distribution of Rs 3,600 as welfare pension, including the revised Rs 2,000 monthly amount and Rs 1,600 in arrears will begin on November 20.
