Webster eyes Ashes berth with strong Shield show
Hobart, Aug. 18 -- Australia allrounder Beau Webster today said he is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to retain his place in the Test side for the upcoming Ashes, starting November 21 in Perth.
Webster, who has scored four half-centuries in his seven-Test career so far, acknowledged that competition for the allrounder's slot would intensify with Cameron Green resuming bowling duties this summer.
"When you're at the top level, you're fighting to hang on to your spot," Webster told reporters here after returning from a county stint following the West Indies Tests.
"Green is going to be back bowling this summer, which will put pressure on my place at No. 6. But I welcome it."
