Kullu/Manali, Dec. 29 -- With a heavy influx of tourists expected for New Year celebrations, the Kullu district administration has imposed a complete prohibition on carrying weapons and ammunition into Manali and other prominent tourist destinations in the district. The restriction will remain in force till January 2, 2026.
Deputy Commissioner issued a formal notification stating that no visitor would be permitted to bring licensed weapons during this period. The ban applies to all individuals except police, paramilitary, and Army personnel deployed on official duty.
The decision, taken on the request of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Manali, aims to maintain public safety, law and order, and communal harmony amid swelling crowds.
