Lucknow, Sept. 15 -- Eidgah Imam and All India Muslim Personal Law Board member Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali today welcomed to the Supreme Court's decision to stay some provisions on the Waqf Amendment Act.

He said in a statement that, "We welcome the court's decision. We hope that when the final decision comes, there will be complete relief."Maulana said, "Our demand was that the entire Act should be stayed, but the court has not given any such order. However, the court has stayed many provisions, and we welcome the stay on some provisions, such as the person who wants to create a Waqf should be a practicing Muslim for at least 5 years."Maulana said that the court has also clarified that the CEO should be from the Muslim community...
