Shillong, Nov. 22 -- Sri Lankan Booker Prize winner Shehan Karunatilaka observed that for over five centuries, South East Asians only read the Europeans perspective, however people from this region are now telling their own stories in their own voices.

"We have been hearing the European story for the last 500 years. In the last 500 years, the world is all about Shakespeare, Renaissance, Colonies and that's not the only story. So now this is changing . I think it's an exciting time ahead for all of us," Karunatilaka, one of Sri Lanka's foremost authors, said.
